Advanced Tools for Pet Safety

Every year, millions of pets go missing, but HomeSafe® makes sure help is always within reach. With a powerful set of tools designed for fast reunions, you’ll have peace of mind knowing we’ve got you and your pet’s backs. Here’s how it works:
Linked Pet Tags
Each DocuPet tag links to your pet’s secure online profile thanks to a unique code assigned only to them. Anyone who finds a lost pet wearing a DocuPet may reference this tag code to access their details, submit a Found Pet Report, or call the number etched on the tag—either your personal phone number or our 24/7 hotline.
Profiles Built for Reunions
When a tag code is searched, key details like contact info, emergency contacts, and care instructions are instantly available, making returns quick and easy. Pet owners have the option to make this information public or private within their DocuPet profile settings.
Alerts When It Matters Most
Lost Pet Reports trigger instant alerts to all registered pet owners nearby. If someone submits a Found Pet Report, you’ll either be contacted directly, or our dispatch team will help coordinate the reunion.
GPS Tracking That Goes the Distance
For extra security, the HomeSafe® Smart Tracker provides real-time GPS updates via ultra-reliable 5G technology. Unlike Bluetooth-based trackers, it offers precise location tracking reliant on satellites to help you find your pet, no matter how far they wander. Learn more here.
How It Works

For pet owners: Pet owners have a wealth of tools at their disposal. With just one click, a Lost Pet Alert can be dispatched, sparking a swift effort to share, track down, and reunite a missing pet with their family. This report is sent to registered pet owners nearby and contains key reunification details, including photos, owner contact information, the pet’s last known location, and more.

For lost pet finders: If someone finds a lost pet, they can quickly submit a Found Pet Report using the link on their tag. This report helps facilitate a fast reunion by providing key details about your pet’s location. Finders will also see whether to contact you directly or call the 24/7 HomeSafe® hotline for assistance. Our dispatch team is always available to help connect you with the person who found your pet.

Paggie

“Paggie is an incredibly energetic and adventurous dog who is always full of life. One of her favourite hobbies is hopping over the backyard fence to explore and make new friends with the neighbourhood dogs. While her curiosity and playful spirit bring so much joy to our family, it’s also caused us a fair bit of worry in the past whenever she’s wandered too far from home.
Thankfully, DocuPet’s pet tag and service have completely changed that for us. Each time Paggie manages to escape on one of her “adventures,” the kind neighbours who find her can easily use her tag to contact me through your system. What amazes me most is how fast and seamless the process is—usually within minutes, I receive a notification and can arrange for her safe return.
Beyond the efficiency of your service, I’m deeply touched by how attentive and caring your team has been. Every time Paggie is found and brought home, your team follows up with me to ensure she’s back safely. Their patience and dedication give me such peace of mind, knowing that someone is always there to help reunite us.
I can’t thank DocuPet enough for providing such a reliable and thoughtful service. Paggie’s adventures are no longer a source of constant stress, and it’s all thanks to the work you do.”–Jianlin W.
Churro
“We are so grateful for your help in recovering our dog, Churro! We had been at our daughter’s home on New Year’s Eve and came back home around 8 pm. My husband went out into the sideyard to feed the dogs, and right then, some fireworks went off close to our home, and the dogs bolted!
Koda came back, but Churro was missing. We drove around in two separate cars for 45 minutes looking for Churro but didn’t see him anywhere. We next posted signs on all of the neighbourhood intersections that he might have run to. Then we came home, discouraged. At 11 PM, we received a phone call from a sweet family about 3/4 mile away who was outside celebrating when Churro ran up. They saw his tag, contacted DocuPet and got our phone number. We were able to go right then and bring him home. What a relief! We also got email notices and texts regarding him being found. I loved the multiple ways of communication. Thank you!”– Scott E.
Oli
“My dog went swimming in a where I live. The lake is 50 yards from my house. He swam out another 50 yards and came out on the opposite of the lake. While on the roadway, he met Nathan, who told me that Oli was very friendly but that he had never seen Oli on his side of the lake. Nathan got info from his DocuPet tag and called. I received the info and called Nathan, who lives nearby and recovered my dog.
Everything was done in 20 minutes. Thank you, Nathan and DocuPet. Anyone reading this story should register your dog with DocuPet. Notification is quick. Good peace of mind.”– Danny L.
Gemma
“While taking my recycling bin to the curb, I inadvertently left the back gate open, and unbeknownst to me dog decided to go for a romp around the neighbourhood. I went back indoors, into my office and returned to work. About an hour later, I received a phone call and email asking if Gemma was my dog as they had picked up a stray wandering, shivering in the neighbourhood. I was sick as I searched my house and couldn’t find her.
The person who found her happened to live six houses up the street and took her in. My Gemma is chipped, but if I had not registered her with DocuPet, I wouldn’t have had her returned to me until the following day, leaving me incredibly anxious and upset. I then received a follow-up call from DocuPet, confirming that Gemma was back in my home, which she was. Flowers to the neighbours up the street and gratitude to DocuPet! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”– Susan S.
Bandit
“This morning, I went to take out the trash, and Bandit pushed past me and got out the back gate. I ran after him and looked for about 30 minutes. I called the Police and animal control. We got a call from DocuPet saying that a neighbour found Bandit a few blocks over, and they called the number on his tag.
DocuPet was very helpful, and we had Bandit home within 10 minutes. I’m so glad he had his DocuPet tag on, or we probably wouldn’t have found him. Thank you to everyone for their help bringing Bandit home this morning ❤️”– Kelsi M.
